Our tiles are made from a soft body earthernware and are intended to be used on vertical wall surfaces: behind stoves or sinks, between counter top and cupboards. They are not suitable for a flat counter surface. Because they are handmade, we recommend a 3/8" grout joint to accomodate slight variations in the edges.
